Wounded Warrior Project

so almost a couple of weeks ago, i had the pleasure of photographing a meet and greet kind of event for the Wounded Warrior Project. it was one of those experiences where you become really humbled and gracious because you realize that these soldiers who have lost limbs and been irreversibly wounded while serving and protecting our country are just as thankful to you for feeding them pigs in a blanket and lasagna. never mind the fact that the event was aboard a beautiful 70+ foot boat floating along the potomac river, the people aboard and everything they do was what made it a truly amazing night. west virginia senator Joe Manchin was in attendance, as well as boat owners George and Carolyn with 10 or more wounded soldiers and their wives, girlfriends, or other guests, and it was a great evening enjoyed by all.

here are some photos from that night...

Sea Star, the beautiful moving venue for the event.

Mara Boggs (center), Senator Manchin's Senior Policy Advisor, and a retired Paratrooper herself, presents a poster signed by the soldiers in attendance to boat owners George (inset left) and wife, Carolyn (inset right) with boat Co-Captains Natalie (far left) and Don Hannon (far right).

i want to extend a special thanks to the men and women who serve our country and provide us with a safer place to live. we salute you.
