today, i had the pleasure of shooting with Arena Stage! my assignment was to create some pre-production photos for one of their upcoming plays, "The Book Club Play". Karen ZacarÃas is the playwright behind this comedy about a book club that gets turned upside down when a newcomer joins and causes things to heat up. the play centers around a woman named Ana (Kate Eastwood Norris) who lives in a perfect world and hosts a bi-weekly book club meeting in her living room. members include Ana's husband Rob (Eric Messner), Rob's friend and Ana's ex-boyfriend Will (Tom Story), Ana's friend Jen (Ashlie Atkinson), Ana's prot´g´at work Lilly (Rachel Holmes), and a new guy named Alex (Fred Aresnault). definitely sounds like a recipe for disaster to me! here's a preview of some of the images from today...
i hope i get the chance to catch one of these performances (from october 7th to november 6th in the Mead Center's Kogod Cradle) and i can't wait to see what they do with the photos!
